Why is this message continually popping up? How do I deal with it? Previous answers to the question have said that it may occur if the extension is no longer compatible, but they don't give any suggestions of what the extension is, how to remove it or what else I can do about it.

I reinstalled Google Drive. It took ages reloading all my files but it seems to have done the trick. Google Drive appears to be working normally and I am no longer getting the error message. Fingers crossed!
Did you try reinstalling Google Drive? That resolved it for me.
Uninstalling the Google Drive app and then re-installing it worked for me
I have this issue too since yesterday - October 4th. Google Drive is unable to open with it. I have updated to the latest Mac OS Sequoia 15.0.1 but no joy. I notice that all of my Google apps were updated at 21.03 on October 3rd and I suspect this has something to do with it. Any advice? Is it worth trying to reinstall Google Drive?
Can't offer any advice - problem still happening. As you say, it seems to be a Google Drive problem. It is really annoying
I'm still getting this error & Google Drive has been closed for more more than a day.
I have the same issue and I can't seem to uninstall because it says its open but I can't even close it because it's not even open. I am so tired of having to open my macbook and seeing this.
