Markup issue/bug IOS 18.0 photo editor

I have a 14 plus, updated to IOS 18.0, and have noticed an issue with the Markup tool when editing photos…specifically when trying to change the color of text when adding text to a photo.

I added a video of what happens, essentially when I click on the existing text to change it to another color (as I’ve done so many times before) when the toolbar opens to change, it offers the choices, I click on the circle to change color, and the pallet selection then opens…before I can click on a choice, the whole thing closes on it’s own. When I try to reopen it, it opens and instantly closes by itself. It looks like a bug/conflict. Thanks.

This appears to be resolved with the release of 18.2 today (12/11/2024). Have tested multiple times and am able to adjust color on shapes, arrows, text, etc.

The 18.2 update didn't fix the edit tools disappearing issue for me. It doesn’t fix it for many other people as well. It’s amazing how this has been an issue for months and Apple is clueless.

It finally started working for me yesterday (1/8/2025). Have an iPhone 13 Pro Max on iOS 18.2.1.

Sad and frustrating; this is still a problem in 18.2.1.

Markup is a valuable feature and killing it with no prompt resolution is terrible.

I just looked at it. It’s got a lot of text editing for minimally cost, but there doesn’t seem to be any support.

The problem fixed itself for 3 months and now it’s back. Sort it out Apple. This is not ok
