I recently bought a crucial p3 ssd to upgrade my ssd capacity. I read many forums about the os version and the adapter watchouts. I have the latest Monterey os and the adapter was working with a Samsung SSD. But in the case of crucial it's not detected. Any help pls.

What SSD adapter are you using? From reading this forum for years, the only recommended SSD Adapter is from Sintech since it seems to be the most reliable & compatible.
Also, make sure to click "View" within Disk Utility and select "Show All Devices" so that the physical SSD appears on the left pane of Disk Utility.
SSDs are not compatible with all other devices. When I first started reading this forum a long time ago I saw several contributors recommending the Sintech adapter for the Retina model laptops & MBAirs. Every time the user used a Sintech adapter, they had success. I've never seen anyone report any issues with the Sintech adapter since I've been contributing for years now.
Not too long ago I did stumble across a thread on a forum for one of the Apple fan sites (maybe macrumours?) which had a long discussion about SSD adapters for the Apple proprietary SSD connector. This was a thread back around 2010 or so IIRC. At that time people were starting to find that the Sintech adapter seemed to be the most promising (the early Sintech adapters had some issues according to that thread, but those issues were ironed out very quickly).
I have seen a couple of other users using a Crucial P3 SSD and the Sintech SSD Adapter without any issues. I personally would not use any other adapter.
The adapter isn't sintech but the adapter worked on a Samsung nvme ssd. I'm thinking I might have to get a p1 or p2 crucial ssd or Samsung brand
Im trying to install a crucial 500 gb P3 ssd in my 2015 MacBook air but the drive is not detected.
