I've recently got a new crucial p3 nvme sdd with an adapter to Mac, but when i plug it in it doesn't show up in the disk utility, and even diskutil doesn't detect it, I've tried to update the drivers and the firmware of the ssd with my windows pc but it doesn't work, the strange thing is that if i plug in the ssd of the pc it works so it isn't an adapter problem

found this article, I'll try to order on amazon a crucial p2 since here it says it should work, it arrives in 4 days I'll then come back here and update on the situation

Your title says new "internal" SSD? Are you saying you installed a new SSD hard drive into your MacBook Air, or is it you have an external SSD attached to your Mac? There's a difference. Also what make/model is this SSD you bought? The more details you provide the better someone can help you.

I'm in the same situation: I also bought the Crucial P3 (with adapter) and Macbook Pro 2015 does't see it and can't install macOS.
I've tested the disk and it works perfectly.
I also tried to format it in HFS+ and APFS but it isn't recognized.

It's Windows ready and not formatted for Mac if windows can detect and use it.
I suggest you format it exFAT on the Windows machine and try again on the Mac. If you detect it, erase it and choose an Apple format.

ok i forgot to say that the drive that works has 256gb while the other has 1tb, is it possible that there is a storage limit?
Yes with the new disk it worked but only by installing MacOS by pressing CMD+alt+r
