iPhone 16 Pro Max touch sensitivity issues persist after 18.0.1 update

I am still not seeing the full touchscreen responsiveness after the bug fix to this issue in iOS 18.0.1. Some simple taps and swipes are still not being recognized by the screen. It’s very annoying.

Same here. Especially left upper side for example in < Mail is insistently unresponsive. I even took off my premium screen protector to make sure this is not the cause but to no difference.

If this is not being acknowledged here or in iPhone media I will send it back.

I never ever with every of my yearly new iPhones had something like this happening.

IMHO, it is a mix of hardware and software.

After this bad experience with 16 pro max, I tested a 15 pro max and I was surprised to discover that — it’s also bad!!!— OK, it is not that bad, but it is worst than my 13 pro. That pointed me to think that Apple is never going to solve this definitely. They’ll launch any workaround to partially solve the issue, if there is a lot of noise around it.

Although the experience in 16 pro max is HORRIBLE, and I’m again surprised when I see news from 24th September reporting it, and all that Apple has done is to release 18.0.1 which does not solve it.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max I bought last year suffered from this very same problem and I did a lot of research to finally, without a shadow of a doubt, conclude that this is a 100% hardware problem. It’s not clear how many iPhones are affected.

Of course the problem was ignored by my reseller, they didn’t even want to hear about it, although I had prepared 100% reproducible use cases in very particular parts of the screen, most notably in a lower right corner.

As the problem was completely ignored, I returned to my iPhone 13 Pro Max that, by pure chance, never had this issue.

I may have already responded to this thread previously but I am on my second 16 PM both same issue. No change after bug fix update whatsoever on either phone. I am lucky in the aspect that I am a major phone

geek and have 2 iPhone 15 PM I use as well with everything set up on same iMessage , text forwarding and call forwarding when nearby but I would love to be able to actually fully utilize this new beautiful experience paperweight

Have those of you experiencing this tried any of the demo phones in the Apple Stores?

I've tried to reproduce this on any of the floor model phones at Apple Stores, AT&T stores and Best Buy and just haven't been able to (as well as on my own) so I'm wondering if anyone has a specific, repeatable way to reproduce this and if you've tried it on other phones.

Thanks in advance.

It would be crazy to try to monitor each of the thousands of daily posts here! ...Imagine wading through thousands of posts saying "Me too!", "Thanks!", "I don't see that setting!", etc. However, Apple will take action on reports from high level users of inappropriate content, etc. And: "Apple may respond to questions but does not formally provide technical support on the Site."
