The newest fun part: with the latest update the network connections with enabled Firewall are stable, but if you backup your Mac with TimeMachine to a NAS device, the backup is no longer working. Stops between 200 and 400MB.

To be clear, it is not the apple OS firewall that was the problem for me. it was the external firewall (mcAfee, Sophos, etc). For me, I updated my Sophos firewall to the latest version and the problem went away. Sophos had a blurb about this on their support site. try updating your external firewall (not the definitions but the actual program) and see if that fixes it for you. I am now using 15.0.1 TimeMachine with no issues. Have done 5 backups perfectly.
Same problem with WD MyCloud NAS

It is working for me. I will say though that my target is a remote Mac with an array attached not a NAS i.e. Synology.
15.1 with Firewall on + Little Snitch still does not working for me. It also says Drive disconnected sometimes and "in use" but it isn't.

Seems like not for me either. Will try it again later this week when I have time to work it through properly.
After the update to 15.1 my first test was successful too. Disappointing that we are happy that basic network is working as expected ;-)

Sequoia 15.1 does not fix the problem. It makes it worse: the workaround of turning off the Mac Firewall which worked with 15.0.1 does not work anymore.
I also still have the problem after updating to 15.1.1
I back up once a week. After updating to Sequoia 15.1.1, I get the error message "Time Machine couldn't back up..." What gives???
Old and fresh backups fail for me when the Firewall is on in 15.0.1.
Of course, the Moderator did not pay attention to the request of not focusing on 3rd party TM backups. I have the issue with hard wired USB drives to my MPB M1 Pro. So, it is not even with NAS.
