5.1 content not playing on atv 4k althiugh atmos playing perfect. The inbuilt app on lg oled c8 plays perfectly . Arc is used to connect atv and tv to a yamaha atmos reciver set up. TvOS is 18.0

ATV not passing 5.1 signal When my ATV audio is set to Atmos, it will not play 5.1 videos. Instead it automatically sets it to stereo PCM. I have to manually change the audio setting to Dolby 5.1 for the movie to play correctly. Atmos movies play fine (if Atmos audio is selected). Older models didn't do this, they played 5.1 movies correctly even with the audio is set to Atmos. I know this is a problem with the ATV because the Apple TV app that is included in my Samsung Smart TV plays both Atmos and 5.1 movies fine without having to change settings. I've tried various settings on my TV and the ATV but can't get it to play 5.1 without having to change the setting each time. Any suggestions? Seems like a software glitch. I'm running the latest version, TVios17 with a Sonos arc soundbar and a Samsung smart Tv.

Unable to use HDR on AppleTV 4k through receiver I have an AppleTV 4k that is connected to a Yamaha RX-V679BL receiver and an LG OLED 4k TV. I cannot get the AppleTV to work on HDR through the receiver, it does work on SDR. The AppleTV HDR works if connected direct to the TV. My 4k UHD BluRay DVD Player displays HDR if run through the receiver to the TV. I have tried different HDMI cables, updating firmware, different AppleTV apps, and of course rebooting. This is not an issue with specific HDMI ports on the TV or Yamaha. I have used the same ports and cable as the DVD player to indicate the cable and ports work for HDR. I do not see any settings on my LD OLED TV or Yamaha that would prevent the AppleTV HDR to work when run through the receiver but allowing HDR on direct connect to the TV.

No 5.1 on TV+ app No 5.1 on TV+ app, just stereo; all other apps (Kodi, Youtube etc) output 5.1. Any way to fix this?

There are a few other threads on here with some users reporting the same.

It doesn’t happen for everyone, though. Not sure yet what these users have in common.
