iPhone 15, iOS 18
After upgrading to 18.0.1 it is draining more faster
After upgrading to 18.0.1 it is draining more faster
My iphone 12 continues to experience extreme battery issue after updating ios 18.0.1.
after updating ios 18 battery started draining. Need to charge multiples times in a day.
horrible experience of apple. If problem continues to persists, planning to change mobile.
This shouldn't be the case. On my iPhone 12 PM, there wasn't this much degradation to iOS 16. Now, on my iPhone 14 PM, WITH Battery Management ON, a FaceTime call for 5 minutes....streaming ONE SONG...and playing my podcasts....DOWNLOADED......and streamed a TV+ episode for 30 minutes......72%. Really?
How to Fix iPhone 15 Pro Battery Drain Af… - Apple Community
Referred to the above thread, just to add on that after updated to iOS 18 my battery health at 94%, then updated to iOS 18.0.1 on 4th Oct, checked again on 8th Oct, battery health drop another 2%, now at 92%. Yet, battery draining issue still persists.
Hopefully Apple will release a fix with new OS before the current version killed my battery health.
Please Apple.
My ipad m2 get the ios 18.0.1 update and my battery health is 100%. It feels like I lost 2% every 4minutes. This is not the case when Ive got it and update with the previous ipados18. I really regret updating. Hope they fixed it in the next update.
Do you force restart your iPhone after an iOS update? If no, this should become a standard part of your update routine --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
Also remember that when you update iOS, the phone is reindexing millions of bytes of data, which can take a few days, depending on how much data is on the phone. That takes power to accomplish.
iPhone 14 Pro, yes this has been happening to me since 17.6.1 after 14 days I did a factory reset (it helped for about 3 days before it started again). Updating to iOS 18 also helped for about 3 days. iOS 18.0.1 didn't help either.
In order for the battery to last the whole day (I used to put it on the charger in the evening with 50%), the phone only has to lie on the table, and then what's the use of the phone?
I have iPhone 11 with ton of space left and did a hard reset after iOS 18 update and still draining like crazy so non of that helps even after iOS 18.0.1. I want iOS 17 back could go all day and night without a charge
I fixed this issue, many times I restarted phone and press volume up + down + power key and than fully discharged my phone than charged to 100% the battery backup was pushed up more than before try it it may be help you

Thanks a lot for your feedback; iPhone health battery says 88% and i’ve had this iphone 13 for 3 years already but seriously, i havent face this issue only when it upgraded to ios 18.0.1 añdo it heats up so much even with reading an article… do yoi have any trick? Do u think apple might launch an upgrade to fix this? Seems its s general thing no?
No, it's not a "general thing" for if it was, we'd see this forum flooded with posts from people complaining. With EVERY iOS update people will come here saying their iPhone is draining faster, or heating up more. But this is most definitely NOT a universal issue affecting all users.
Have you performed a simple Forced Restart of your iPhone, which is something I do after EVERY iOS update and I've honestly NEVER had an issue caused by an update in all these years?
Your battery health isn't bad at 88%, but keep an eye on it. When it dips to 80%, you will need to pay Apple to put a new battery in your iPhone as it will be pretty degraded at that point.

This latest upgrade was a disaster and it messed up my photos. I am so mad until it’s time for an android next

If however, you'd like to make adjustments to the new Photo app to more resemble what you had, this tutorial from 9to5Mac is actually pretty good --> https://9to5mac.com/2024/09/17/ios-18-photos-app-change/
I don’t need your greatness on how you guys see your update when obviously that’s not the case. This update was a disaster and your advertisement on trying to justify it is unacceptable. Developers should also give customers options on other updates that will offer the previous update so we can go back to the previous one incase things aren’t working for us. Stop trying to force people to keep you ideas.
LOL. You seem to under the false impression you are speaking with anyone from Apple. You AREN'T. This is a user to user only forum and no one from Apple is here. My "greatness?" I offered a possible solution to you on how to customize the photo app to more resemble your old app. Use it or don't use it, I don't care.
I certainly will take my "greatness" to help other users who might be more appreciative of me taking my "personal" time to help them.
