What happened since it last worked? Did you reset it perhaps, or take it over from someone else? Did you get a new router?

What does show when you power it on?

Is the status light glowing continuously?

can’t even get it on wifi
  1. Try the steps as mentioned in: If your Apple TV can't connect to Wi-Fi - Apple Support
  2. Try the ‘Other…’ option instead of selecting a listed discovered network. Especially if the password has been changed.
  3. For Apple TV (4th generation or earlier), verify that the router or access point isn’t set to use WPA3, as only device models from ~2018 or later support that. Instead use ‘WPA2/WPA3 Transitional’. Some users report that they had to set ‘WPA2’-only first.

Unless someone else chimes in with a new idea, I would suggest to contact an expert from the Apple Support staff for further assistance. Contact Apple for support and service (phone numbers) or start your support request online (chat/email/callback).

As last resort that I can think of, you may restore the unit through a computer and USB cable. See here for instructions: Restore your Apple TV - Apple Support. Then you can start over, without the baggage of whatever was wrong. You would still need to activate, but connect to Wi-Fi before that.
