Allow while using

Should "Allow while using an app be selected OR "Always Ask be selected to shut the location app off in the background? That way it isn't always tracking your phone?

Is there a way to have block once (right now) for location request beside allow once, allow while using app, and don't allow? Sometimes, I don't want the app to have access location right now. If I say don't allow, then it is set to never. I have to go back to iOS' settings and then change it back to ask me next time. It's annoying. This is in my iPhone 12 mini's iOS v17.4. Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

Unable to change location settings on iPhone I attempted to change the setting on location on a particular app, but could not I could see the box was checked. It said “only while using”, but I wanted to change that. The button was not fully lit up. I could not change settings. I then went to “ privacy and security” and then selected “location service” but I could not make any changes on that screen. The on off button was not available, settings for apps listed or were not available. [Re-Titled by Moderator] Original Title: I noticed I cannot turn location services on or off or even access any of the settings for different apps. Anybody else have this problem?

It really doesn't matter. Either way the app won't (or at least shouldnt) get location access when it's not active. The only difference is whether you want to be able to grant or deny location access when you use a given app or just let it have it whenever it's launched.
