What is the iPhone gesture to "Go back" similar to Android phones?

I just switched back to iphone from the Google pixel and I really, really miss being able to easily swipe the screen to go back like I used to. Is there a way to create such a gesture on my iphone? If not, are there any plans to implement such a gesture. It's definitely a game changer.

If you mean to go back to a previous app swipe the line on the bottom of the screen left or right to switch to recently used apps.

I mean no matter what app I'm using on my pixel pro and no matter where I'm at on my phone I can swipe the edge of my screen to go back to whatever app, whatever page, wherever I was previously.

And you can do that on an iPhone also, but by swiping the line at the bottom of the screen left or right.

You can also go to the App Switcher and select any app you have used recently by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and pausing in the middle of the screen; then swipe left to right to review apps.

hmm swiping the line at the bottom doesn't really seem to be working the same way. What I mean is, let's say I'm in youtube and I go from the 'home' page to the 'subscription' page, I can easily go back to the 'home' page just by swiping the edge of the phone back. If I'm in the google calendar (full month) and I click on one of the dates, I can swipe the edge to easily go back to the full month. I can easily go back by 'swiping back' no matter what app, what page. The line at the bottom seems to be just for switching apps? Maybe I'm just not using it right.

ok I just realized that that it does work in Google calendar but still not with other apps or pages that don't have the back button.

Yep, that is correct. The app will have to have a back button on the top of the page to use the System provided gesture to swipe right to go back. Any app can use the gesture to go back to any page they wish, but that needs to be implemented by the app. For example, Safari uses it to take you back to a previous page that you viewed.

Swiping at the line on bottom takes you back to an entirely different app.
