Blinking screen (wallpaper but not open windows)?

I'm seeing the exact same thing on M3 MacBook Pro. This happend right after Sequoia upgrade. The wallpaper flashes black periodically at random times. Open windows are not impacted, just the wallpaper.

Activity Monitor shows a 'Wallpaper Image Extension' and I'm pretty sure the bug is related to that. If I do a force quit of that, the wallpaper flashes black again so it has to be related.

I upgraded to Mac OS Sequoia when it was released, and a couple of days ago upgraded again to 15.0.1. I'm not sure if that has something to do with it or not.

I can confirm it’s happening to me as well. On my m1 Mac mini. One monitor.
