How to redeem Apple Gift Card codes, damaged accidentally

I recently purchased an iTunes gift card, but while peeling off the label, part of the redemption code was damaged and is now unreadable. I have the receipt as proof of purchase and would appreciate your help in recovering or replacing the code. Please let me know what steps I should take.
