possible to delete “my location” from maps search.

I am at a location. I want to know the route and travel time between two other locations. Maps seems not to allow that. It will only show routes and travel time between my location and some other location.

Is that correct? If so a severe limitation on the usefulness of Apple maps. And a dumb design assumption.

Prevent Apple Maps Resetting Location between Sessions So sometimes I need to research some distant location, look around or take notes of places therein. But I can get distracted and have to go away and come back to it a later time. And the most annoying thing is that Maps resets itself to my current location upon re-opening the app, rather than at the location I was looking at before. So then I have to go through all the steps again to get back to where I was. Is there some way, a toggle in Settings perhaps, that will prevent that happening? I have looked but doesn’t seem to be anything. And if there is no such setting then Apple really ought to add something to give the option to lock Maps to the last viewed location, with maybe an onscreen icon to take us back to the current physical location if needed.

It’s creepy and irritating that it makes assumptions about where you are going. A previous solution was to turn off important locations under the privacy settings, but this setting no longer exists as far as I can tell. I'd really appreciate any help.

Can you Delete or Change the location for “Guides We Love” in Apple Maps? Hello, Is there a way to delete or at least change the location in “Guides We Love” from Apple maps? These are places I didn’t create and it’s for a city I don’t even visit. If there isn’t a way to delete them, is there a way to at least set it for places near me and not somewhere that’s almost 2 hours away from me? Thank you. (I’m using iPhone 12, updated software)

When you are viewing a route, you can tap on My Location and change it to anything you want. The route will then recalculate from your new starting point.
