How is Safari when compared to Chrome?

I switched from Safari to Chrome 5 or 6 years ago because Safari couldn't handle Zoom. Tell me if/why I should switch back.

It is your choice.

  • You will find you most likely have at least 3 additional files that launch on startup and run whether you are using Chrome or not. Safari has none.
  • Google makes its money off of selling your personal information to advertisers. They are not charging you for using Chrome, but you are the product. Safari prevents trackers from monitoring your activity and gives you information on those trackers. Currently it tells me it has prevented 170 trackers from monitoring my activity and represents 47% of the websites I have visited.
  • Google is a resource hog on your RAM and CPU cycles.

With that said, some people prefer Chrome and they are certainly free to use any browser they want.
