As it is of no further use, I would want to delete it.
Question: Is it possible to remove this update snapshot?

No, you won't be able to delete it. You'll get this message:
I has something to do with a system update and can't be deleted. You notice it's zero bytes so takes up no space on the drive.
What OS version?
Can you highlight it & click the tiny minus icon?
