M1 ultra video playback issue

I have Mac Studio M1 Ultra with 128gb of ram running macOS Sonoma version 14.6.1 and can't playback video smoothly. Its either very jerky/glitchy/choppy or it skips frames. Playing the videos back on an older Mac upgraded to the same OS is fine.

I use Premier Pro and have the same issue with the preview window, when trying to playback again on other older Macs or PC's no issues, but the M1 chip is unusable.

To ensure this is not a screen issue or HDMI lead issue I replaced the lead and tried two different 4k Samsung screens, which does not resolve the issue. If I adjust the display to hd (1080p) it does resolve the issue a little, but for anything above HD, playback is not viewable due to the issues above.

Any help would be good.

Local as in, on a Wi-Fi network drive..?

If so, then the Mac Studio could be suffering from Wi-Fi interference.

If the problem is Wi-Fi interference or High Speed USB devices connected to the Mac Studio..?

Test playback with the network drive connected directly to the Mac Studio using an Ethernet cable.

If that is not possible, move the files to a USB drive and connect it directly to the Mac Studio and test.
