iMac 27 - 2019 not connecting to TV via USB-C to HDMI cable

Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble connecting my iMac (2019) to my Samsung WM85B using a USB-C to HDMI cable - Elecan Cable 30 Ft .

I've checked that the cable is securely plugged in to both the iMac and the TV, and I've tried different HDMI ports on the TV. I've also made sure that the TV is set to the correct input. However, the TV still isn't displaying anything from the iMac.

Here are some more details:

  • iMac model: Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019
  • Cable: Elecan USB-C to HDMI cable (supports 4K@60Hz, claims to be compatible with MacBooks and iPads)
  • TV: Samsung WM85

I've tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Restarted both the iMac and the TV
  • Checked for updates on the iMac

Is there anything else I can try? Could there be an issue with the iMac's USB-C port or the TV's HDMI port?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

iMac 27″, macOS 14.6
