Apple Watch Series 7, watchOS 11.0.1, no more sound

I have an Apple Watch Series 7. The watch produced audio up to and including watchOS 10. Once I updated to watchOS 11.0 and then to 11.0.1, the watch no longer produces audio output. Siri voice doesn't respond to my prompts; my notifications are via haptics only; all audio is no more.

I have reviewed the following support documents:

I have checked the following on the watch:

  • Press side button -> (speaker icon) -> volume max
  • Press side button -> (bullseye and triangle icon) -> Apple Watch
  • Press side button -> (bell icon) -> silent mode off
  • Press side button -> (moon icon) -> Do Not Disturb -> off
  • Press dial -> Settings -> Notifications -> Siri Announce Notifications -> on
  • Press dial -> Settings -> Focus -> Mirror my iPhone -> on
  • Press dial -> Settings -> Siri -> Siri Responses -> Spoken Responses -> always on
  • Press dial -> Settings -> Siri -> Siri Responses -> Voice Volume - Speaker -> volume max
  • Press dial -> Settings -> Sound & Haptics -> Ringtone and Alerts -> volume max
  • Press dial -> Settings -> Sound & Haptics -> Silent Mode -> off
  • Press dial -> Settings -> Sound & Haptics -> Workout -> Voice Feedback -> on
  • Press dial -> Settings -> Gestures -> Cover to Mute -> off

Nothing seems to fix the audio issue. I can't find information on how to roll back to watchOS 10.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I was not able to fix it myself. I have AppleCare+ for the watch. Their second tier support diagnosed it as a hardware problem. Apple replaced it at no additional charge to me.

I have been in contact with Apple Support and the senior support team multiple times regarding my case. They initially requested the invoice and photos in order to consider an exception. However, I was ultimately informed that my case was being rejected for two reasons: first, the warranty had expired, and second, the issue was classified as a hardware problem. These reasons were clear from the outset, so I found the response to be vague and unhelpful. When I raised these concerns, the representative abruptly ended the call, stating that the case would be closed and no further action would be taken. This lack of clarity and professionalism has been very disappointing. #AppleSupport #CustomerService #Apple

My watch doesn’t face any kind of water damage or drop from my side, since the issue is happened after the update, how we can trust the apple’s upcoming updates? You will may face the same if you don’t have the Apple care plus. And once it over the situation is same for you as well. They won’t take the responsibility for issue which happens due to the update.
