Cinematic videos are corrupt on iOS 18 (iPhone 14 Pro)

I've been using the Cinematic mode on my iPhone 14 Pro (256GB) a lot in the past year, as a B-camera for interviews. It never failed me, even when shooting 1h video files.

Now, I recently updated to iOS 18 and already three cinematic clips (of one minute) got corrupted. When playing back on the iPhone, at some point in time the frame just freezes for a second, then moving to the next frame, freezes again, and the next etc. Finally, playback is getting back to normal.

When opening the files on my computer, it also lags, but the moment it occurs is different, every time I play the file. Importing the file in Premiere Pro does work, but when playing the file it gives me a bunch of errors like "Error retrieving frame 234 at time 00:00:09:09 from the file X.mov"

Anyone else experiencing this issue? It happens on iOS 18 and also after updating to 18.0.1.

Hello, I also experienced this and found a workaround (of course this can not be the permanent solution, should be fixed officially) you can cut a few seconds from the end / beginning of the video - that fixed my corrupted video files. You can deliberately make the video a bit longer just in case...

Hope this workaround will work for you as well.
