why can't i change homescreens on my ipad?

i have two versions of my ipad homescreen, a black one, and a pink one. i could like to change the "default" homescreen to the pink one with the matching widgets, app icons, etc., but i cannot change it. im not on any focus modes or do not disturb, and it still wont let me select it and will only let me stay on the black one and the other ones are greyed out. below is an image of what this looks like (sorry if its too light my wallpaper is white) but it is greyed out and i cannot select it. i have tried restarting my ipad.
