Apple Watch Ultra Battery Health Concern

I recently bought an Apple Watch Ultra with 169 battery cycles and 98% battery health at the end of September. However, within 10 days, it dropped to 96%, and now it's at 95% after 15 days of use.

Before updating to watchOS 11.0.1, the battery health was at 97%, so I’m wondering if the update might have affected it. I’ve been using optimized battery charging (between 20%-80%), and I understand some drop is expected over time, but the speed of this decline seems unusual. At this rate, I might need a battery replacement before the year ends! :)

Many Reddit users report still having 100% battery health for this device, which makes me wonder if the recent watchOS updates could be influencing battery health, as several users also mentioned rapid battery drain after watchOS 11.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Is this normal?

Any insights would be appreciated!

On average, Battery Health will decline about 1% for every 25 charge cycles, or in normal use about 1% per month. So at 169 cycles, on average the Health would have declined by about 7% or be at 93% now, so you're ahead of average. In addition, the figure is not linear. It can hold steady for a while then suddenly drop, and in some cases even increase. It's a "best guess", not a rigid precise measurement.

Bottom line: your Watch's battery health seems normal and perhaps even a bit better than average. So it's not something to stress about.

Again, the calculation is not precise, and battery degradation is not linear. You can get sudden drops like that and it does not indicate any problem with your Watch. There's nothing effective you can do about the battery health other than try not to let your Watch repeatedly drain completely. Otherwise, just use and charge it as your daily use pattern requires.

Thank you for your response. While I understand that my Apple Watch Ultra’s battery health is currently above average, my main concern is the rapid decrease I’ve noticed in a short period. It dropped from 98% to 95% within just 15 days, which feels like a significant decline.

I’m worried that although the battery health may seem fine now, it might continue to drop at this rate, leading to a more serious issue in the near future. Could this rapid decrease be a sign of something unusual? Is there anything specific I should monitor to prevent further rapid declines?

I appreciate your advice and support.
