How do I get VoiceOver to read an entire webpage from start to finish, or at least from skipping top navigation to finish?

I'm having troubles applying the collection of VoiceOver commands in order to hear a webpage.

My VoiceOver keys are Ctrl-Option.

If I go to a webpage with VoiceOver on, I'm reading that I need to press VO-shift-W to have the entire window read to me. So if that window is a browser window displaying a webpage, I'd expect to hear the contents of the webpage. But when I hold down in turn, option, then control, then shift, then W (without releasing anything), I hear "option control shift [error ping]".

How do I hear the page?

I'm on Sonoma 14.7.

Mac mini, macOS 14.7

Hi Charles Belov

Re: "How do I get VoiceOver to read an entire webpage from start to finish,

or at least from skipping top navigation to finish?"

Am no expert in this area, yet your question to the Community, certainly deserves some response.

Fortunately Apple Support's documentation describes a method that may help.

Apple Support's online article: Use VoiceOver to read text on Mac:

says:

"VoiceOver provides many ways to read text.

Note: VO represents the VoiceOver modifier. See Use the VoiceOver modifier. (Eg: says: You can set the VoiceOver modifier to be the Caps Lock key or the Control and Option keys pressed at the same time.)

To read : From the top (“Read All”) : "Press VO-A, or flick up with two fingers.

You don’t need to interact with the document"
