iOS 18 double tap zoom does not work anymore.

For some reason in the photos app on my iPad Pro m1 and on my iPhone 16 pro, double tapping an image does not zoom into the photo properly anymore. Zooms only enough to fill the screen.

In iOS 17 double tapping zoomed into the photo a lot more. Probably 100% in, hard to tell, because photos app does not show the zoom percentage. But yes, they sadly did change the shortcut.

It was very useful and quick to check noise levels or focus after taking a photo.

Double tapping fills the screen, as you say. I take almost all pictures horizontally, so holding the phone the same way doesn't zoom, much. But when I hold the phone vertically, it way zooms to fill the height of the screen.

I'm not sure I ever used double tap to just zoom--did it really do something different?. In any case, the two finger pinch or expand zooms the picture by the amount you spread your fingers, as usual.
