iOS 18.1 is a beta version of software with your only option to restore to the latest shipping release.

Apple Beta — Restore Shipping Software

Downgrading a shipping release of iOS 18 to iOS 17 is not possible. Downgrading has never been supported.

If you have a support question for iOS 18 that is not the beta version, then describe clearly the issue you have and what steps you have taken.

There's typically a narrow time window where people have the option to downgrade their iOS version with the help of a Mac or Windows device.

I generally advice against this and always recommend using the latest stable release, and the issues you're encountering are not inherently caused by a newer iOS version , you could encounter them on iOS 17 as well.

We can try to help you resolve your issues instead of downgrading, but ultimately it's your choice and you can always update to the latest version after downgrading.

That said, it depends on your device whether or not is currently signing an older iOS version (i.e., if it's possible to downgrade).

If you really want to downgrade then I can see if there is currently still an older version being signed by Apple for your device and provide you with the step by step instructions to do so.

I just need to know which device we're talking about.

Thanks for clear explanation.

I think I will stick to 18,1.

I think my problem coincided with my IPad being hacked.

Things has calmed down with information and I can suddenly log into my email,

where Apple informed me that someone had tried to log in to my AppleID.

Now I have tried to clean up and I hope tomorrow it works.

Regards
