Apple iPad trade in rejected

I have had two iPad trade in's rejected due to streaky screens. Both units worked perfectly at home, if the screen was "streaked" it certainly was not noticeable to me. Is this a coincidence, or is something going on with the Apple "partner"?

Usually you will get a picture sent back to you that details the reason for the downgrade in value and you also have the option to have the device sent back to you. Cosmetic damages are subjective and will decrease the value even if the device works fine.

To avoid this process, take your device directly to the Apple Store for trade-in where you will get an on the spot value for your device and avoid the whole hassle of sending it in and then waiting to see what the actual value is. Of course, this depends on whether you have an Apple Store nearby, but depending on the location, a little more drive time may be worth it for a person if that is an option.

I have the same problem and never received a picture of the problem. Tried twice with the same response so I had my perfectly working iPad with a scratch on its corner returned to me. I purchased the new iPad Pro 12.9 and donated my iPad to a local charity. It’s the first time ever I had an Apple device rejected. So disappointed as the cost of any Apple device is quite high and it’s been very nice to get a small trade-in allowance toward a new device.

Btw, I live way out in the country with no Apple Store anywhere near my address. Is a stricter trade-in policy new to Apple going forward?
