unable to uninstall Bitdefender. Says I don't have permissions, and yet I am the admin/owner!

Chatted with Bitdefender. I run Sonoma 14.6.1. They tried everything to get the darn program off my computer (it's not scanning or updating, just freezes my computer when I try). It won't uninstall. Even Admin password can't get rid of it. Tried utilites, terminal, removal code. Unsuccessful. This is infuriating. How can a program take control of my computer and not let me delete it!?

You might try booting into safe mode and deleting it then.

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Safe mode will often correct weird software behavior by forcing the OS to do disk repair, clear caches and other housekeeping and disables acceleration and third-party mods. When you're in safe boot, the machine won’t be at its best performance, especially with graphics, but that's expected.

Exit safe mode by restarting your Mac normally.
