Is there a way to fix Pboard?

Since my first maco in 2004, I've been frustrated with the cut and paste buffer filling up so you could not paste anything except the last one that was successfully placed in the buffer. I can fix this by going into activity manager or terminal and stopping the process for keyboard. Is there a better workaound?

Thanks, Tom. The solutions are to open Activity Monitor and stop the process or to open Terminal to do it. I know them. Why is it happening, and what can I do to prevent it? When I'm focused on something, I must stop, open another program, stop the app, then exit. By then, I'd forgotten what I was doing.

There has to be a solution or something to avoid.
