Really hot power adapter that wiggles and sparks

I just received a refurbished 14” MacBook Pro M1max, and the power adapter doesnt stay plugged in securely, and sparks every time I adjust it back into the outlet. Then the adapter gets burning hot to the touch fairly quickly... I’m assuming I need to replace it before it causes damages. Or is this normal for this machine..?

Is this something I can take to an Apple Store or do I need to contact the place I bought it from..?
