The crop function within editing is locked and crops all sides!

The crop function within editing is not working properly. If I try to bring the little bar down to crop one side only, it crops all sides at once, making the whole picture smaller. There is a little lock symbol at the top right-hand corner. How do I get rid of that?

tap the crop symbol, tap the crop symbol a 2nd time, then you can choose “Freeform”
