I updated my Iphone 11 to ios 18.0.1 and its experiencing hot temperature can someone help me understand the problem

That is expected as the phone is doing quite a bit of background processing after the update:
- Analyzing all your photos
- Reindexing files for spotlight
- Building database for Siri Suggestions
Give it 3 days to complete. It is best to leave it plugged into power when possible as it will also be consuming more battery power during this time. If your phone overheats, you will see a message on the screen and the phone will then shut off to allow it to cool down. I suspect that has not been the case.
Something else that may help to clean up files after an update is to force restart the device. This may take a couple of attempts to get the speed and sequence of the dey presses correct and the last step of holding the side button until the Apple logo appears could take up to 15 seconds. Ignor anything else you see on the screen during that time.
