Manipulating saved photos

I have several dozen photos stored in the"photos" thing (I have no idea what its' proper name is) that is on the bottom of my screen. I would like to enlarge certain individual photos for my viewing pleasure. How do I do that?

That “photos” thing is Apple’s application with the proper name: “Photos”. Very fitting, I’d say.

To ‘enlarge’ certain photos, simply double-click on one.

“Photos” has pretty decent photo editing tools to ‘Edit’ and ‘Crop' your photos with.

I googled Apple Photos and typed "view pictures" into the search field, and I got this.

Are you coming from a Windows machine?

BTW, I luv your handle (profile name).

There’s a lot of functionality in the macOS to make your user experience (UX) an easy, happy one.

It doesn’t take too much time to learn the basics that will become intuitive for you.

With all the questions you have, it would be more efficient for you to visit the closet Apple Store for quick learning session by checking online at “Today at Apple”. Start here: Today at Apple - Apple

Thank you for your helpful response. I'm somewhat well versed in using the Apple Community Support Community. My problem is there seems to be a vast amount things this computer can do that I don't know how to get it to do. I find so much stuff that I do not understand what all the functions mean and what they're capable of doing. For instance, I don't know what it means (or how to do it) when something says, "copy, cut, and paste." And that's only tip of the iceberg for me. I still don't (and probably will never) understand why such "a powerful machine" as someone here once described it, has to be so incredible difficult to navigate and utilize. Like my photo question, I should be able to click on something that says "enlarge photo." Once again though, there's some way too complicated way (for me anyway) to get there. My photos are store in something called "photos." When I go there the computer shows that photos can be store in something called "Library" or "Album(s)." There's nothing that explains the difference, or how to go about it, what the advantages may be, how to do chronological, etcetera. Storing things (photos, documents, and the like) by date, for instance. I should see something somewhere that says, "organize by date." As far as I know, that function seems non existent to me. Know why that is, because there's no common sense, logical, simplistic, way to get there. Think about, we wouldn't need this forum if computers were easier to use...
