Suppress banners for unknown callers

Silence unknown callers is on.
Notification banners for known callers are active and desired.
Banner notifications for unknown callers … can they be suppressed or inactivated? I'd like the list of unknown callers there when I purposefully navigate to it, just no banner or red dot on the phone icon.

I don't think so. At least if it's possible I can't find a setting to do that. Such calls won't ring but you'll still get a notification. That sort of makes sense, since otherwise you'd have no idea that you got a call and might miss one you actually wanted if you didn't think to check Recents or your voicemail. But you can provide feedback to Apple on the subject, if you wish:
