My iCloud (on Windows 10 laptop) suddenly went to Dark mode and I cannot figure out how to turn this off. I cannot read several emails in this mode. Why does Apple do this?

To turn on dark mode for iCloud.com on a PC, you can change the background color of the homepage:

  1. Go to iCloud.com and sign in to your Apple Account
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the homepage and click Customize
  3. Click Edit Background and choose a color
  4. Click Done in the top-left corner of the window

Windows 10

Go to Settings, then Personalization, then Colors. Under App Mode, select Dark.

Sorry to be an annoying PC user, but neither of these solutions changes the dark mode in iCloud email. I have Windows 11 and there is no App Mode. The background color choices for iCloud are too bright and don't change the background in iCloud email.

I think it's time for me to find an email provider other than iCloud. I don't know why iCloud forced these changes on us, I certainly didn't request them. Thank you for your help anyway.
