Wi-Fi connectivity issue in iPhone 15 Pro Max after iOS 18.0.1

My home network setting - Cox Panaromic Gateway PW8 (CGM 4981, router and modem) and Cox wifi pods are installed at downstair; another Cox wifi pod was at upstair.

WIFI connection was shown in my iPhone 15 Pro Max after IOS to 18.0.1 was updated. It is good when I was at downstair; but, no WIFI in a few seconds when I was upstair.

So, with iPhone I either choose to "FORGET THE NETWORK" to re-select it or going downstair; then, WIFI is connected.

I did try "RESET NETWORK SETTING" and nothing help. Any clues at all.

Thanks :-)

I was aware of it. And, it was no luck.

Long story to make it short....after all.....visiting to Apple store to have a quick test for iPhone 15 Pro Max → OK. Later, I incidently find down in my Cox account (nternet service provider) does not show the 6 Ghz bands; so, to exchange another Cox Panaromic gateway PW8 (not the refurbished) and all WIFI bands are connected when verifying all devices details on my iPhone 15 Pro Max :-)

IOS 18.0.1 is not the cause # Cox Panaromic gateway PW8 (the refurbished) is the answer for 6 Ghz wifi band not connect when I am upstair.

Thanks, Lawrence

No. I am not using VPN - it is not connected.

Note that I didn’t ask if it was connected. I asked if it was installed. Even installed it can interfere with networking, even if it is not connected.

I have noticed something is very interesting when veryfying my network under WIFI....
At upstair >>> Private Wi-Fi Address >>> Fixed

Fixed is good. But you don’t need Private at all if it is your Home network; the purpose of Private Wi-Fi Address is to make it difficult for public Wi-Fi networks to track you. So you might try turning it off (for your home network only). Yes, you will get a warning, but you can safely ignore it.

At downstair >>> Wi-Fi 6E Mode >>> Automatic
Anyway, chatting with Apple today......learning more about it :-)

Let us know what you find out!

It was done as many times as I recalled. Apple chat live agent recommended me to wait for their senior adviser’s call; but, so far no call at all. I check iPhone pro 15 max wifi connection in the router and it is configured as 6 GHz…..no matter I had it disable from iPhone itself (Off option)

I may call Apple from that number was given to me from the live agent.
