How to upgrade iPhone from iOS 15.8.3 to 16?

So late reply, but I found this as I looked up how to fix it too…I had an 8 Plus, lost it somewhere and a friend gave me a 7Plus to suffice for the moment, and yeah this phone stuck on 15.8.3. I know the 8Plus I had, it was running everything fairly smoothly. We just gotta upgrade again bruddah

It’s actually an iPhone 7plus, if that makes a difference.

I have a iPhone 7plus so why can’t it go to ios16.0 instead of 15.8.3

Tap Settings > General > Software Update

If an update is available for your model of iPhone, it will appear.

If you see a message that your software is up to date.......there are no more updates for your iPhone.
