Setting a passcode (not screentime passcode) for child iphone

My daughter has I phone 6s and she wants screen lock passcode so no one goes through her phone if she loses it. It’s set to a child’s account. How do I do this?

iPhone 13, iOS 18

The process is similar to any other adult's device.

Set up a passcode

  1. On iPhone X and later, or iPad with Face ID, go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode. On earlier iPhone models, go to Touch ID & Passcode. ...
  2. Tap Turn Passcode On.
  3. Enter a six-digit passcode. ...
  4. Enter your passcode again to confirm it and activate it.
