Unable to user Face ID/Double Click with Apple Pay on iOS 18

I am struggling to use my iPhone for payments since downloading iOS 18. My card is ok and money is in bank but it keeps referring me to ‘assisted touch’ and won’t accept double click on right hand side button as before, or my Face ID ?

tried turning assisted touch off. Tried restarting my phone. Tried deleting my card and re-adding it. None of these have helped ?? What is going on ??

Please follow this path,

iPhone > Settings > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch — disable, if it is disabled, momentarily enable and then disable again.

Scroll down to bottom of AssistiveTouch screen > Confirm with AssistiveTouch > disable

After confirming above, please do a forced restart following the instructions in the Apple Support article linked below. If you’re unfamiliar with the procedure, follow the step by step instructions in the article.
