iPhone 16 Pro Max's screen is flickering

I have been facing the same problem from the day I got the phone. After observing for a few days I took it to the Genius Bar and they suggested it could be software issue and was asked to reset the phone. With still no improvement I went back and then the screen was replaced. But there is no respite from the situation. The screen keeps freezing, blinking, flicking. It’s just so annoying even to use the phone. I am gonna take it back again, but this whole process has been so frustrating. It’s time Apple comes up with a solution to fix this.

I had exactly the same issues. Got my phone replaced. However, I can still see the screen flickering on certain apps. I am unsure on what to do next. It's so unfortunate that we have to undergo this sort of issues for such a premium device. It's so frustrating to keep going around the store multiple times for no fault of ours.

My phone also does it. Occasionally, it'll flicker and turn off. I've been to Apple so many times it's ridiculous. They have replaced everything internally and it still does it. I called my carrier and got a replacement device. Now the replacement does it. They replaced the display, everything internally AGAIN, and reset the phone as new. Nothing works. I've never had a problem with iPhones and definitely not to this magnitude. Like everyone else here I'm very dissatisfied. It has begun to be not worth the trouble. If they can't get it fixed I'm switching to Galaxy. I can't have a phone not working properly. Especially when we pay so much for these phones. Then customer service doesn't/can't compensate you for all the time we waste. Who has the time to be constantly running back and forth to the store

It happened for me when always-on display mode is off.

I'm noticed since the Apple have been released IOS 18.5 My iphone 16 pro max won't happen with this flash screen anymore, I always open the Always on display back

I picked 2 iPhone 16 Pro maxes and both devices have the exact same issue, Many are replacing these iPhones and the same issue still persists, So it’s either widespread hardware defect or hopefully a software glitch that apple will fix soon!

was wondering if it was only me. It was a quick screen flicker with stripes on it.

this is the second time it happened. Before, it happened too but very quickly. Was wondering if i was just imagining it the first time. Then it happened again yesterday while i was about to show my colleague something using my phone. This time i really did witness it.

never dropped my phone or whatsoever. It just flickered momentarily, or should i say flashed these stripes on the screen. Then looked this up. It seems that there are so many things happening with Apple products now.

Is the quality of their products degrading? First the touch screen was not responsive (but it did eventually resolve. Thinking it could be software update and was eventually resolved by iOS 18.1.1) and i could not type properly as the virtual keyboard was not really responsive. Then this screen flicker with random stripes quickly flashing on the screen. Mmmmmmm…

Mine is doing this more frequently now I’ve been into apple and it’s got worse so I’ve been on chat tonight again and I’m going to go in and return the device for a 1200 pound phone it’s not good enough Apple could easily solve this which leads me to think is something they know about and aren’t saying.

I’m on 2nd replacement iPhone 16 pro max with the same issue now.

iOS 18.2 didn’t fix this issue. Now I wonder if the issue is just software related or actually hardware related.

I am within my return window still and pondering switching to android if this issue is not addressed quickly.

I’ve had issue now a while after receiving 18.3.1, the problem still persists, I’ve reinstalled firmware, Apple Store checked it out and found nothing wrong, my screen also goes black for a while and won’t come back in for sometimes 45 minutes, I’m ready for shell out the money for a Google pixel Pro XL and be done with this bs, all the money spent on this device and this is what I get?

This is happening to me too, barcode like likes randomly throughout the day and sometimes green barcode lines, I’ve called apple and they tell me the same sh** update the phone and then reinstall as new, why would I reinstall my iPhone as new? What a waste of time, my phones always updated and it’s still happening, I don’t know what to do? My iPhone 14 Max was amazing I wish I didn’t change it, this new iPhone is disappointing, I’ve tried screen recording and it never catches it !!

Me too, My iPhone 16 Pro Max is experiencing screen flickering and white lines appearing randomly. This issue happens frequently and affects usability. I’ve tried restarting the device and updating to the latest iOS version, but the problem persists. Apple Team , we need a solution as soon as possible. Please advise on how to fix this or if a replacement is needed. Thank you.

A few days ago I unboxed a new iPhone. On the first day after the data transfer, I noticed flashing vertical colored lines when unlocking the device, which looked as if the device was damaged. The lines appear every now and then and I have the impression that they appear when the screen is quickly unlocked (taking it in your hand and then swiping from the bottom while lifting it). Maybe a brightness adjustment error?

I have a iPhone 16 pro max and I’m also experiencing this issue too, every tech enthusiasts said in the upcoming software updates Apple is gonna fix it but now it’s iOS 18.4 and I’m still facing the issue. It’s a shame that even for the high end devices Apple is not providing any support.
