iPhone 16 Pro Max's screen is flickering

I have this same issue. Also I get the spinning wheel of death on occasion while using it then it returns to normal after 5-10 seconds. I’ve owned almost every iPhone and the 16 is far and away the worst

will also worst on lowpower mode. I understand the refresh rate will go down but the screen become sluggish and flickers a bit more.

tried restart,reinstall iOs but no luck.

my iphone 12 is much smoother.

Even I am facing this screen lines and flickering often when phone unlock or some times on opening some apps. While Apple going to add any fix for this or do we need to replace this phone. This is the first time Apple is creating fuzz over the community with this issue. Hopefully an future update may fix this issue.

Without a shadow of a doubt Iphone16 pro max is the worst phone I have ever purchased from Apple. As a loyal Customer from the very first iPhone. I can put my hand on my heart and say this. How can they charge £1200 for something that hardly works. I visited the Apple Store twice, diagnostics say everything is healthy. Everyday randomly my screen flickers with either barcodes or lines. It is an absolute joke!

I tried this for a week and the problem are still there ( yes always on is still off) I’m convinced the screens used are not meant to handle always on display as they intended. I’ve ordered my Pixel Pro XL, this phone will have its rest until further notices when my pixel arrives, this has been going on for far too long long. Apple needs to fix this.

Nothing much you can do until the update fixes it, if ever. Then I gave up. My iphone 14 pro max was amazing too! I regret the same.

I managed to show them the flickering as it flickers when reloading certain pages, and certain apps most of the time. You just need to find out which app when it happens.

I sold off my iphone 16 pro max after 3 months of use. I cannot stand it anymore and don't think the update will ever fix it.

I have this issue too but I don’t know how to replicate it. It just happens randomly, don’t want to take a trip to the Apple Store if they are not going to replace it but it’s affirming how it looks exactly as people described it and that lots of people with 16 pro max encountered it.

I’ve tried that as the level 2 Apple support person suggested, and it did not work. I was also informed that this issue is widely reported by customers. Why they have not fixed it yet is the better question…

It’s so frustrating that this issue has not been addressed or really acknowledged by Apple. I’ve reached out to support and received the standard reset settings, reset your phone, remove your screen protector, etc. Frustrating to be dealing with this on such an expensive phone.

I also went to the Apple Store in Malaysia, and just like everyone else’s experience, they told me to wait for the next update. This has become their standard reply. But after September, when iPhone 17 is released, our phones will become outdated. How long do we have to wait? I’ve been troubled by this issue for nearly half a year, and Android users are laughing, saying that such an expensive brand of phone can’t even fix this issue after six months. I’ve been using Apple for so many years, and I’ve never been this disappointed. If Apple keeps telling us to wait for the next update, I’ll switch to another brand. I don’t have the patience to wait anymore.

I barely had this iPhone 16 pro max for 2 month. Then the screen went black on me then started glitching after that. I got 2 screen replacements and the glitching continues. Rumors are the iPhone 13 is doing better than the 16. That’s sad.

How in the ****? Did you find this by mistake. Can we fell them to replace the 5G modem. You know I think I know why it is bad. Apple has their own modem chips now. They put their chips in the iPhone 6E. So the company must have sabotaged the chips since Apple is not using them. I don’t know if you are in the US or not but it is very difficult for us to get 4g LTE spectrum anymore. Our phones will be useless. And I might sure you get credit for this.

I live in Italy, and fortunately, I can manage with 4G. Unfortunately, with Apple developing its own modem chip, it feels somewhat like an admission of guilt, probably acknowledging issues with older devices. At this point, I’m expecting a recall rather than a software solution (as long as it doesn't limit the connection bandwidth). I also hope that the new production line of the iPhone 16 Pro Max has corrected the hardware issue. Additionally, I’ve noticed that by enabling the 4G option (thus excluding 5G), I’ve also resolved the touchscreen sensitivity problems.

It works however, in America all the 4G and LTE has been taken significantly by 5G and it is very hard in most populated areas to pull a 4G or LTE signal. It is so weak it is barely 1mbps downloads and like 0 uploads.

I'm using 16 PM version 18.4 I'm facing this flashing blue or white screen that is sometime when the phone is pick up or unlocked. there is still the same and I hope the Apple will resolve this as soon as possible or provided the reason, If not I will consider another brand due it's effect to my trust issue right now.
