Magic Mouse is unresponsive after macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 update on MacBook

Since the update of OS Sequoia 15.0.1, the mouse pointer with the MagicMouse connected to my Macbook reacts as if I were moving it on a glass table. Control via the trackpad works perfectly. I have also tried another MagicMouse with the same jerky behavior. I have found similar requests in various online forums, but no solution.

I have already tried the usual measures such as restarting the MacBook, disconnecting and reconnecting the Bluetooth connection, etc. No solution either.

The original poster clearly stated that the problems arose after updating to 15.0.1 and weren't present before. The statement 'The user erroneously assumes the Apple Magic Mouse used on macOS 15 Sequoia is the root cause of this mouse performance issue' therefore makes little sense and itself feels like an erroneous assumption based on insufficient data.

I myself had a plethora of similar problems under Sonoma, none caused by a faulty input device.

Thanks for your reply, PRP_53.

I forgot to mention that I am using a mouse pad. The behavior I have experienced has been since the update to OS Sequoia 15.0.1, so I doubt that there is any mechanical reason. Maybe someone from Apple would like to pick up this thread and give a hint if this is a known issue that might be fixed with one of the next updates.

What else might be the root cause? I saw a coincidence with the update to Sequoia, because before the update the mouse was working fine. I tried another mouse on same MacBook with same jerky behaviour.

Might there be an issue with bluetooth?

I moved my iPhone or any other device far away from my MacBook to avoid any interference.

The Optical Sensor on the bottom of the Magic Mouse

Generally works better on a flat surface with a Mouse Mate versus and Surface that is shiny and reflective

FYI - use two Apple Magic Mice on two different Apple Computers

Both work as expected with even a Black Piece of Paper instead of directly on the Glass Top of this Computer Desk

The user erroneously assumes the Apple Magic Mouse used on macOS 15 Sequoia is the root cause of this mouse performance issue

As mentioned earlier and each of the two machines were using macOS 13 Ventura upgraded to macOS 14 Sonoma and now with macOS 15.0.1 Sequoia

The same Magic Mice from Apple perform as Designed by Apple through each and all versions of macOS
