iPhone 16 Plus - Missing Vivid Filter

Dear Apple Support Team,

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the absence of the vivid filter feature on the iPhone 16 Plus. This feature was highly valued in previous models, and its omission has affected my user experience.

I believe the inclusion of a vivid filter is essential for enhancing photo quality and providing users with more creative options. I hope you consider this feedback for future updates in iPhone 16 Plus and other models

Hello apple, just wanna tell you that the vivid effect in previous model attracted the interest of most of the new user and current user , the filter has made photos attractive with its enhanced colour balance . So its my request to have “ vivid filter “ back in 16 series . Plz consider my request 🙏🙏

Yes it's an real disappointment, but writing in the community isn't going to help because it's more likely that your comment will go unnoticed. It's better to provide them product feedback form asking for feature. Those forms are read by the developers as well as the engineers which will help them to do anything necessary to keep customers happy. As ios 18.1 is going to roll out on 28th October 2024 it's better to keep giving feedback and also mailing them to add this feature cause I am also doing the same.

Hope we get the vivid filter soon in the new update for iphone 16 lineup.

I would suggest that all who are using iphone 16 lineup do give the product feedback for bringing back the vivid filter again.

Thank You

For your iPhone 16:

Change the Photographic Style of your photo on iPhone 16 models:

Edit photos and videos on iPhone - Apple Support

says:

"On iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max,

you can add a Photographic Style to a photo to adjust its tone and color.

  1. Go to the Photos app  on your iPhone.
  2. Open a photo, then tap .
  3. Make sure Styles is selected below the photo, then do one of the following:
    • Choose a style: Swipe left or right to choose a different style.
  • Adjust the tone and color: Slide your finger on  to simultaneously adjust the tone and color. Drag your finger on the slider below to adjust the intensity level.
    • As you make adjustments, the values for tone, color, and intensity are shown at the top of the screen. Tap the round arrow to reset these values.

Tap Done.

You can set some styles to be used automatically when you take a photo in Camera. See Use latest generation Photographic Styles with an iPhone 16 model camera.

But then you will need twice the storage for new photos.

I would only do it, if you want your photos to be taken as JPEGs instead of High Efficiency images and videos.

To make the photos more vivid, you could increase the Vibrance and the Brilliance in the Adjustments for the photo.

Once you have found the right combination of adjustments to recreate the lost "Vivid" effect, you can copy and paste this adjustment to other photos. Keep an adjusted photo as a template in an album, where you can easily access it to lift and stamp the adjustments. See the paragraph "Copy and paste edits to multiple photos" in the user guide: Edit photos and videos on iPhone - Apple Support )

Re: vivid filter: consider to give the vivid option in the upcoming update

Apple is not here to read your plea: To send feedback: Feedback - Photos - Apple

In the meantime:

You may want to see if léonie's excellent suggestion (given earlier in this discussion thread) may help ... When software is updated, it often gives us more control than previous versions did. This comes at the expense of learning new ways of doing things.

Apple is not here. We are all Apple users like yourself in the community.

From an earlier reply in this discussion thread:

You may want to send feedback, or a feature request, to those who work behind-the-scenes at Apple. They will likely not reply, yet your request will reach those who can make changes, if others are also requesting them.

Please choose the correct form for the device or computer you use:

Web-form for iPadOS & iPhone iOS: Feedback - Photos - Apple

(Else: if for MacOS: Feedback - Photos - Apple)
