Unable to use front camera when setting up internet banking in iPhone 15 Pro

My current iphone 15 pro keeps blocking the use of the front camera when trying to set up internet banking. The app requires me to verify via taking a photo.

No matter what i do within settings to “allow” either in the app or the main camera settings, the phone keeps blocking the use , the little red camera icon comes up and screen stays black.

front camera is fine and i can take photos with other apps on the phone.

i can even see the app is noted as approved to use the frint camera within the safari camera settings.

any ideas ??
