Crucial x10 external boot disk not working
System:
2017 Imac
Intel 3Ghz
radeon 555 2gb
8mb ram
Ventura 13.7
I have purchased an external SSD crucial x10 plugged in to my thunderbolt. I have erased the drive and formatted the drive APFS. I have installed Ventura 13.7 onto the drive and attempted to boot from start up as instructed on youtube. I has not worked. I have tried to boot in recovery, I have tried to migrate assistant, I have tried to recover with time machine. I cannot get the drive to boot as my start up drive. Do I need to try a different drive brand, like Sandisk?
I'm attempting to speed up my machine. I'm currently getting about 50 mb per second with my current drive. I have noticed a significant decrease in my systems speeds over the years as resource demands have increased. I'd love to make this work. Also this is my first post for help. Please don't flame me if I have posted incorrectly or left out any pertinent information your require to provide assistance.
