I forgot my sons passcode. Now I can't change it
I manage my child's contact. He has requested me to review and accept new contacts. I forgot my passcode for his phone. Now I am locked out. I need to reset the password.

Ask your son. That for several reasons. It builds trust, it intentionally shows your limits, and — most importantly — your son may well know the password. If he trusts you enough to reveal that knowledge, of course.
