Apple Watch Series 4 - Can't reset apple watch after too many passcode attempts and disconnected from my other apple devices.

Hello!

I couldn't reset my old apple watch after too many failed passcode attempts had completely locked it up, but I needed to turn it in for a trade-in! I then disconnected it from my phone in attempts to reset it which ended up being unsuccessful, so now I was really in a pickle. Every post I read said to just hold the side button on the watch until the power menu appeared, but that was not the case for me. My watch was just turning on/off the "too many attempts" screen. IF THIS IS HAPPENING TO YOU - click and hold ONLY the crown down for a few seconds, then proceed to hold down the side button after that together with the crown still pressed and it should prompt you with an "erase all content and reset" screen. This worked for me just now as I had to figure it out to trade in the watch for money off my new Ultra 2. Hope this helps someone who was having the same issue I had and couldn't find this answer as an option anywhere. Cheers.

TLDR; if your side button is not prompting you with power options, hold down the crown button for a few seconds and then hold down the side button with the crown still pressed. Should prompt you to reset the device!
