How to prevent scratches on my iPhone 16 Pro

I bought my iPhone 16 pro 2 weeks ago and yesterday I removed the cover and I noticed a scratch on the side created by my nail (and I don’t wear nail polish or something). I’m wondering about that poor quality of this new iPhone. I had a 13 pro before and I had the same cover (jet tech) and it never happened something like this and neither on my previous iPhones. Did something similar ever happened on you’all? Thanks.
