Cannot stop DuckDuck Go from activating in Safari on iPad

I have gone into Safari under Settings and have tried selecting various search engines other than DuckDuck Go but when browsing, DuckDuck Go privacy browser keeps taking over the search. I have gone into Settings for DuckDuck Go and turned everything off…does not help. I have looked into Safari extensions and it’s not there. How do I get this privacy browsing under DuckDuck Go off my ipad? Almost every site I try and go to it won’t allow to open.
