Calculator issues in new iPhone 16

The calculator on the new iPhone 16 doesn’t seem to do basic calculations like my previous model did. I do have the “basic” calculator mode selected.

I attempted to calculate 279,832,509 x .30 and got 8.395e7 as the answer. I also tried 279,833,509 x 30% and got the same result. It can calculate 2+2 and still get 4, so I’m really not sure about what the issue is.

Any tips or fixes?
