Since updating iPad mini to 18 it has stopped syncing photos. My iPhone is still on 17 and usually updates but I can click on ‘sync now’ to force a sync but since updating the iPad to 18 it doesn’t sync if there is a sync now it’s well hidden.

Thank you, why on Earth it was hidden there I have no idea. I’d hate to look at the thought processes of the developers. Now all I need to do is go back to 17 and sanity.
This is really counterintuitive and frustrating. Why the “smart” people moved it is beyond me, you have to take two additional steps to force the sync now. Way to go Apple programmers.
Or, what if 'Sync now' would actually - brace yourselves! - sync... now. I click sync now, with 74% battery and nothing happens, it's still "saving battery power"... for what? I don't know... but I want to smash my phone against the wall at times because of this...
This worked for me today, to resume ios18 to sync iPhotos to cloud. Counterintuitive and frustrating.
